Novopolotsk. Plebanovo. Grodno. Minsk. 02/23

Four active days in Belarussia. Visited motherland — place where were village, where my grandfather (Batay Aleksandr Pavlovich) from. Then, travelling by classic tourist route Grodno — castles. On the way home stayed for one night at Minsk, flew near Borisov with flightschool “Wings”. Now they are based on airfield Sivitsa

These days (25-26th Feb) 1943 village was fired by facist. It was operation "Winter lace"

Almost 40 women and kids were fired. Partially inhabitants were brought to Germany (two grandfathers sisters were), worked there. Came back after the War. Men, who were not in army, became partisans

In 1786 castle was changed into cloth factory. In 1914 fire destroyed castle, but it was repaired in 1930. Finally in 1944 the War completed the destruction.
